After years of fighting with the VA, I read in the newspaper about a special committee that was formed to help the Vets. I wrote to that committee. I received a response, from a member of Congress, by the name of Peter DeFazio. ( June 1, 2001) They had me do a power of attorney with them, so they could represent me. After the power of attorney was signed and delivered to them. Mr. DeFazio's office attempted to correspond with Acting Director Mr. William Ingram of VA regional office in Portland, Oregon. Mr. DeFazio's aide ( Frank Van Cleave ) called me, and said that they could not get Mr. W. Ingram to respond "in a proper manner". I was told that Mr. DeFazio's office said that it was illegal what the VA was doing, and that I should move to an other district, to fight with the VA because they could not do anything for me out of their office. My power of Attorney was removed by them, and I was sent away.
Another promise by the president, that was just empty talk.
I wonder if they keep a record of the rejects?
