Dave served in the Vietnam war, and came home uninjured. 20 years later while working around the house Dave was hurt. He went to the VA for help. They flew him to another city for tests and then flew him home after the tests. They were nice and even put him and his wife in a motel room and fed them. Now the VA is going to fly him and his wife to another city many, miles away for surgery. As he is standing there telling me about how good the VA is treating him. He tells me about all the morphine the VA is sending him, and how it does not help the pain. He said that he has taken 5 morphine pills that day, and then takes another deep swig at the liter of name brand beer that was close to him where ever he was at. This Vet tells me he has no idea why they are doing all this for him. He says he can't even see where he is eligible for all this attention. He is welcoming it all with open arms. I'm glad he is getting help. I do not want him to lose it! The strange thing is that the VA has sent him a survey to fill out. The VA wants the Vet to fill out this survey and tell everyone how he feels about his treatment and help from the VA. (I wonder why they never sent me a survey like that?) (What's this all about?)
